A Surprise Discovery Points to the Source of Fast Radio Bursts


The mystery of where fast radio bursts come from appeared to have been solved. The astronomers then turned toward the previously known source: an ultra-dense, rapidly spinning and highly magnetized cinder of a stellar core called ‘a magnetar’.
