Our Sun Might Not Be Quite as Big as We Thought


Astronomers have discovered that the Sun’s radius may be slightly smaller than previously thought. The new findings, based on sound waves or ‘p-modes’ generated inside the Sun’s plasma, suggest a more accurate view of the Sun’s interior. This could significantly impact our understanding of the Sun and its role in supporting life on Earth. The research is currently undergoing peer review.
