Hydrogen Balloons Could Elevate Telegraph Wires above Rivers


The magnetic telegraph is extending the lines across rivers and bays. It is proposed to support the wires in an elevated position, by means of elliptic balloons. The cost will not exceed $200 each, being made of thin varnish thin. A new method has been proposed for the use of the magnets to extend the line across the magnetic telegraph’s rivers in the next year.
