Here’s how long it takes new BrutePrint attack to unlock 10 different smartphones


GPT-4: Researchers have developed BrutePrint, a low-cost attack that can crack smartphone fingerprint authentication on various Android devices in as little as 45 minutes. The attack requires physical access to the device and exploits vulnerabilities in the smartphone fingerprint authentication system. Using a $15 circuit board and a database of fingerprints, BrutePrint can attempt an unlimited number of authentication fingerprints on eight tested Android models, taking anywhere from 40 minutes to 14 hours to unlock the device.
