Windows Subsystem for Linux gets new ‘mirrored’ network mode

Microsoft has launched Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 2.0.0, featuring new experimental features such as automatic memory reclaim, sparse VHD, mirrored mode networking, and DNS tunneling. These enhancements aim to improve network compatibility, reduce memory footprint, and automatically shrink the size of the WSL virtual hard disk. The update also includes a Hyper-V Firewall and an autoProxy feature. Some features are only available to Windows Insiders running Windows 11 22H2 with Windows 11 Build 22621.2359 installed.
