Musk shut off Starlink to prevent Ukraine attack on Russian ships, report says


Elon Musk ordered SpaceX to disable Starlink to prevent a Ukrainian submarine drone attack on the Russian naval fleet, according to a new biography. Musk feared a nuclear response from Russia, leading to Ukrainian officials pleading for the restoration of connectivity. The incident led to discussions with President Biden’s national security adviser and the Russian ambassador. Despite aiding Ukraine with Starlink terminals during the Russian invasion, Musk stated that Starlink was not intended for use in warfare.
