Brain-reading Devices Allow Paralyzed People to Talk Using Their Thoughts

Brain-reading implants, enhanced by AI, have allowed two paralyzed individuals to communicate with unprecedented speed and accuracy. The brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) translate neural signals into text or synthetic speech, decoding speech at rates up to 78 words per minute. While improvements are needed before clinical use, these devices could be products in the near future, restoring fluid conversation to those with paralysis.
