Defense Department may have discovered a cure for rabies


Researchers from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences have discovered a method to neutralize the rabies virus in mice. The findings could have broad implications for treating many other human viral diseases of the central nervous system, which are currently difficult to treat and often result in high fatality rates. The research is particularly relevant to the U.S. military, as troops often operate in areas where rabies is prevalent.
