Some Neural Networks Learn Language Like Humans

A recent study suggests that human brains and artificial neural networks (ANNs) process language in similar ways. Researchers compared human brain waves and ANNs signals while processing the same sound, finding striking similarities. The study also revealed that both human brains and ANNs trained in different languages processed the same sound differently, providing further evidence of similar processing methods. These findings could help demystify how ANNs learn and challenge the notion that human brains are pre-equipped with language-specific hardware and software.
