Raspberry Pi Used To Hijack Casino Card Shuffler

Security researchers from IOActive have demonstrated how the Deckmate 2, a widely used automated card shuffling machine in casinos, can be hacked. By inserting a device into the machine’s exposed USB port, hackers can alter the shuffler’s code, hijack the machine, and tamper with its shuffling. The researchers also found that the machine’s built-in camera feed could be accessed to learn the order of the deck in real time. The findings were presented at the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas, prompting discussions on improving casino security technology.
